They were the talk of the town over twenty years ago and now the trio of Billy S, Bucky Brown, and Glenn Wise aka Science Friction are set to return in a big way – live and in Memorex.
Walking all over the competition at area Battle of the Bands back in the late 80′s, Science Friction would go on to pack lokal clubs and open for big names coming to the area. But one thing the band never accomplished, despite being one of the few rock bands to play mostly originals in Augusta, was releasing an album of material.
Now it’s 2010 and all that is about to change…but not in a way you might expect.
Now with a back catalog of one-time crowd favorite rock anthems like “Having a Party” it sure would be easy to rush out a CD’s worth of material but now twenty years older and wiser, the guys decided to jump in deep and have created close to a dozen brand spanking new tunes that are in the process of being put down on tape.
Kick starting the tunes will be “Listen to the Music” due out August 20th on “A Very Lexie CD 2010″ which the band will play at the CD release and Memorial Concert also on August 20th.

This is a BIG deal!! As a huge supporter and fan of Sci-Fri from back in the day, I am calling for everyone who has ever seen or heard of these guys to come out and support them! I was at their farewell gig in 1989 and it about broke my heart when these guys hung it up. This band had a unique sound and energetic live show. I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing Billy, Bucky and Glenn do their thing once again!
