How is Aralic only in the All Ages section and not in at least in the Die Agnostic Award too? They’re the heaviest band out of any mentioned on this page and the closest thing to good metal. Just saying.
Posted by Melissa Johnston | December 11, 2009, 8:10 amFalse Flag IS the best new band!
Posted by carmen | December 11, 2009, 9:52 amOOOH OOH I can answer that first question! Because they didn’t get enough nomination votes between October 1st and Thangsgiving.
Posted by Stoney | December 11, 2009, 5:23 pmIt’s funny cause it’s true. I’m actually a little surprised at the fact that Die Agnostic had an award named after them.
Posted by Sanj | December 11, 2009, 5:42 pmShotgun Opera has all my votes for everyyyythinggggg!!!!
Posted by Michelle Vercruysse | December 12, 2009, 3:04 pmI can also say that the Die Agnostic award is not a metal only award. Chairleg is also a metal band, but the category is Hard Rock Artist which includes metal and grindcore.
Over all, it is a tough call on many of these. All the nominees are very deserving of their respective awards. Proof yet again of the musical talent we have here in the CSRA. Horns up!
Posted by Big Troy | December 12, 2009, 9:20 pmThe all-ages nominees are simply a reflection that the kids are NOT nominating bands, but nothing can be done about this except better promotion of this event to the kids in the future. We, the bands, can not help who nominates us for what…many of whom don’t really know or care about more than one or two bands in town anyway, so there’s the answer to that. Maybe the dieAgnostic award could be, in the future, changed to ‘hard rock/metal’ award. And indeed, I fully acknowledge that there are plenty of all-ages bands that are far more popular than L.i.E. and Shotgun Opera at 7G (…by the way, I’m the drummer for L.i.E. and Artemia…)
And while I’m commenting…
I’m actually a little surprised at the continuance at dieAgnostic hate, even after all these years .. I guess they have an award named after them because Stoney recognizes that they were the most popular heavy band in Augusta history, showing in 2009 that they can draw a bigger crowd than any other currently active and popular lokal band.
Unbelievable that anyone would come to this site of all places and insult a lokal band.
Posted by Dork | December 13, 2009, 2:30 amFirst off how is Bobby Henderson from Twice Removed not nominated for Drums and second, where are the active links to vote?? Twice Removed all the way
Posted by Jonathan | December 15, 2009, 2:00 pmAralic wins!
Posted by Casper | December 19, 2009, 2:44 pmWould like to see a category for bluegrass / acoustic music. Trying to put this type music into any of the categories, just isn’t fair to any of the great local groups.
Posted by RJ | December 30, 2009, 5:49 pmnot to be biased or anything but i’m pretty sure aralic got this.
Posted by dale | January 7, 2010, 11:42 pmi’m with jonathan, on the “EXCUSE ME THERE’S NO ACTIVE LINKS?” So, where do you vote? Aralic, False Flag, Twice Removed, just shows so many good things happening in our local scene-we have a lot of talented people here, & i want to vote for the newer bands, so – how can i?
Posted by Charles Rocker | January 12, 2010, 4:28 pmL.I.E IS AWESOME.
