Following a high speed chase through Georgia and South Carolina James Brown is convicted of assault and various drug-related and driving offenses and sentenced to six years in prison.  Brown was released on parole on February 27, 1991 after serving less than half his sentence and in May 2004 South Carolina granted the music legend a state pardon.
