Augusta Music History 101 – March 3, 1956

On March 3, 1956 The Godfather of Soul, Mr. James Brown, released his first single “Please Please Please” on the Federal Label. The single would eventually reach number six on the R&B charts and 105 on the U.S. Pop charts. Brown would stay with Federal until signing with the King label in 1960.

  3. I think I expected the actual History of Augusta Music. I see now that He’s posting “Moments in Augusta’s Music History” which would probably be a more suitable title. my bad.
