Augusta Music History 101 - June 1, 1980

Playing a crazed preacher, James Brown would make a short cameo appearance in the film “The Blues Brothers”. Performing the gospel song, “The Old Landmark”, Brown would lead the Rev. James Cleaveland Choir while the congregation dance, flip and perform a “soul line dance” routine. Other soul and blues legends featured in the film include Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway, and fellow Georgian Ray Charles.
