After weeks of work and anticipation, primarily by Augusta musician/scene reporter & supporter Brian Allen, the combined community showcase, The Confederation of Loudness, presented by The Confederation of Noisemakers Website and we here at Lokal Loudness, exploded into the Playground with loads of incredible lokal music and attendees. The event, labeled by Allen as a huge success, started off as a showcase of up and coming Augusta bands and turned into a musical lovefest raising a whopping $1500 for the newly created Lexie’s Legacy Memorial Scholarship Fund. Many thanks to all involved including the bands, The Playground’s Scott & Dee Levine and the Playground staff, Steven Uhles and Valerie Rowell of the the Augusta Chronicle and Columbia News Times, Sector 7G’s Nick Laws as well as Rock Bottom Music for the donating a beautiful Takamine Jazzman acoustic guitar to give away to one lucky person who attended this past weekends event.
Talks have already begun for making this an annual event that will return to it’s overall original focus to be on the bands starting in 2008. Additional talks have begun to organize an event to be focused directly on raising funds for Lexie’s Legacy. Early indications are that the event will be held this summer at soon to open music venue Sky City.
