Augusta Music History 101 - April 11, 1956
On April 11th, 1956 James Brown’s debut single for the Federal Record label, “Please Please Please” reaches #6 on the R&B charts. The Godfather of Soul classic would eventually be re-released in 1964 by King Records with crowd noise added in for a more “live” feel.
