Before we let the sun go down on yet another amazing February here in Augusta, I’d like to present a few verbal awards to some folks who have gone above and beyond the call of duty lately. Their seemingly never-ending support sometime goes unnoticed but definitely not unappreciated. These are not just movers and shakers for the Lokal Loudness cause, but heavy-hitters for the Augusta/CSRA music cause as well.
The “You’re So Amazing It Hurts Award” goes to our new web guru here at Lokal Loudness Jessica King. In just a couple of short months Jessica has transformed this once dormant website into a virtual media playground that not only keep us on our toes, but keep us motivated to continue bringing you great content as well. With Jessica working on future additions such as a streaming audio feed, an online store, and archives section, look for the content at Lokal Loudness to grow and grow and grow!
The “Clutch Player Award” goes to our good friend, Sector 7G owner Nick Laws. When the computers and camera at Lokal Loudness both went down, Nick came to the rescue, helping to create nominee videos for the awards show. Before it was all over Nick also provided arm bands and some music equipment for the night. Nick was prepared to jump in and run sound when Mike Guthrie was running late and over the course of the night filmed the festivities for future generations to view.
The “No One Does It Better Than You Award” has to go to Brian “Stak” Allen for his great new website “Confederation of Noisemakers”. While Lokal Loudness was gearing up for a new look, Allen jumped into the Augusta music fray to make sure that Augustans were not only able to keep up on the latest in lokal stuff, but also get a history lesson on how Augusta GOT to the new stuff. His unique take on life within the Augusta music scene is perfect reading whether with your morning coffee or with an evening “adult” beverage.
The “You Pulled It Off Again Award” goes to 1102 Bar & Grill for another great Awards show. When all you have to do is stand by the stage and make sure that the presenters get handed the right awards, it’s a good night!
And finally…
The “You Go Dawg Award” goes to Chuck Williams for his swift action in taking care of an on-air “personality” who was dissing lokal music, as well as the integrity of the Choice Awards. Chuck has been a class act for many years and demands that his employees hold themselves up to that same standard. Wondered if he sounded more like Donald Trump or Vince McMahon when he said “YOU’RE FIRED!!!!”.
And last but not least…
The “Give Yourselves a Round of Applause Award” goes to the musicians and music fans of Augusta for once again making this year’s awards show an amazing joyful event. Sometimes we take for granted the great music here in Augusta and it’s nice to be reminded just how special the music scene in this town is. So to you….a toast.
Now with that taken care we here at Lokal Loudness want to let you guys out there know that next week will be an important week to visit Lokal Loudness Online. We expect to have a couple of great announcements and you wouldn’t want to hear it from a friend who heard it from a friend, would you?!?!?!
Til Then…
Make It LOKAL, Keep It LOUD.
