Larger All-Ages Shows Coming to Augusta

According to a blog on www.myspace.com/sector7g larger all-ages show will return to Augusta beginning this Tuesday February 19th at Club Hollywood, formerly the location of The Continuum, The Venue and Lokal Loudness Live. Club Hollywood, located at 943 Ellis Street, is an all-ages hip hop club operating solely on Friday and Saturday nights. The owner has reached agreement with Jams Booking to present all-ages shows sundays to thursdays.

Nick Laws, owner of Sector 7G stated “It’s not replacing Sector 7G! It’s not really even direct competition. Nick Mitcham from Jams Booking has been working very hard to keep cool, big shows coming to Augusta. It’s hard to do that with a capacity of 150, so we started looking for other options. The North Augusta Community Center was one that we tried. Now we feel that Club Hollywood might be cool”.

Laws has been working hard over the past few months to find a larger location for bigger shows and at least for the time being Augusta has a solution.

“I’ll be helping out with the sound,” added Laws on his sites blog. “But otherwise it’s all Jam’s doing. Check out Club Hollywood Rock for more info, see what shows are coming, and add them!”

Jams Booking kicks off the Club Hollywood Rock this Tuesday with Meet My Crew, A Well Thought Tragedy, Ambush, 11 Spirits, H803 and Battle for Tomorrow. Show is at 6PM.

  1. Yea, Jams Booking is bringing in bigger shows on the Backs of the locals. If a local band wants to play then they get put on the hook for hundreds or even thousands of dollars in Ticket Sales. If they don’t sell their Quoto then They are expected to cover the cost. What the F is the promoter doing?

  2. Um, when has Nick EVER booked a show at sector where the local bands have to sell their own tickets to play? Yes, there are shows around the country that screw local acts with quotas (notice I spelled it correctly), but not here in OUR scene. Get some facts before spouting crap. I bet this is probably Mr. Knight by another name trying to stir shit again. Just because some local promoter didn’t book your shitty band doesn’t mean you need to start talking shit about Nick, Jams or Sector.

  3. hey man, if you want to talk about this, call me or email me about it. you don’t have to spread this noise in forums about what i do wrong. until you’ve paid 2-3,000$ of your own money to see some small show, then you can come talk to me about it.

and i have never given a local band a quota of “thousands of dollars,” i dont work shows for daughtry or paramore. i keep it reasonable, and if the bands don’t want to sell that much its very easy to do this new thing called saying “no.” for some its not that hard.

if you want to talk more about it, without questioning my ability as a promoter. email me at nick@jamsbooking.com
