Downtown Bar in Danger of Losing Liquor License

1102 Downtown Bar and GrillIn yet another case of violence involving an Augusta night club, downtown establishment 1102 Bar and Grill now finds itself in the company of several other clubs in danger of losing their liquor licenses due to violent incidents.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Department has made the recommendation to the Augusta Commission that the venue’s license be revoked or suspended based on the actions of 1102 co-owner Mike Guthrie. Guthrie, whose name is reported to be on the clubs liquor license, allegedly attacked an attendee of a downtown New Year’s Eve celebration outside of the establishment in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

  2. As Travis told us..”we just gotta hurry up and wait”. For now all goes as planned. If something happens we shall just have to adjust and move forward. The awards WILL happen…that night or some other night, that venue or some other venue. Thing is…despite all the controversy we here at Lokal Loudness WANT to continue the good vibe tradition of having the awards at 1102. Just have to stay tuned!

  3. I wouldn’t worry too much just yet……the other owners of 1102 are already taking steps to transfer the liquor license…..and the charges against Mike will get reduced more than likely…….there is more to the story than the news has been letting us know…….
